Paul McCartney (EMI Classics)The eight years that it has taken Paul McCartney tp complete this superb oratorio have scarcely been easy for him, so it's little surprise that Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart) is a profoundly moving work. Designed to be sung by young people, it sidesteps the usual exhausting reiteration of themes in favour of constantly unfolding and overlapping melodies. A triumph.
